Wow! Mounted May has come and gone, and what a month it was for our competition team and hobbyists. The results from JJWL Worlds speak volumes about our hard work and dedication. We proudly achieved an impressive 1,735 wins, 947 submissions, and accumulated 133,326 points—a testament to the skill and perseverance of our athletes.
Every bracket at JJWL Worlds was fiercely contested, whether in No-Gi or Gi divisions for adults. Leading up to the event, our focus was intensely on mount attacks, escapes, and controls. It’s clear that this concentrated effort paid off, as many of our students adeptly applied these techniques to their advantage on the mat.
As we move into July, we’re excited to announce our next focus: Freedom July. This month, we’ll dive into open guard transitions, retention, and attacks—key areas that will enhance your game and build on the foundation we’ve laid.
In addition to our competitive successes, we’re thrilled to celebrate a special milestone: the promotion of Michael Hernandez to his brown belt. Michael’s dedication and hard work have earned him this significant achievement, and we look forward to seeing him continue to excel.
Don’t miss out on our upcoming training sessions—join us as we continue to push boundaries and reach new heights in our journey on the mats.
